In January 2023, Complead (formerly Sanction Scanner) won the Finnovating Award for Top RegTech 2022. The Finnovating Awards of 2022 named the 30 most promising startups in financial technology, chosen using data from the Finnovating platform and input from a group of ecosystem experts.
About the Finnovating Awards
Finnovating is a B2B matching platform for the financial technology industry. It connects FinTech, InsurTech, PropTech, WealthTech, and LegalTech companies with banks, insurers, investors, accelerators, and advisors. At the time of the awards, companies from more than 125 countries were on the platform.
What the award recognized
The award recognized our AML compliance software, which at the time included:
- AML name and transaction screening
- Transaction monitoring and fraud detection
- KYC and customer risk assessment
- KYB and UBO checks
The tools were built to help financial institutions and other regulated companies meet their AML obligations: screening names, transactions, and media for money laundering and fraud risk, and monitoring activity for suspicious patterns. Everything was available through APIs, so teams could add screening and monitoring to the systems they already ran.

Where Complead is today
Since then, the customer base has grown to 800+ financial institutions in 70+ countries. The separate products have come together in one AI-native platform: sanctions and PEP screening, adverse media, transaction and fraud monitoring, KYB onboarding, customer risk assessment, and case management. The Finnovating Award sits alongside our other recognitions, including a place on the RegTech100 for 2023 and 8th place in the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 Türkiye.
