Cookie Policy
How complead uses cookies, what each type does, and how to control them.
About this Cookie Policy
How complead uses cookies and similar technologies, what each category does, how long they last, who receives the data, and how to control them.
Applies to: complead.ai, its subdomains, free tools, and the complead platform login experience. Provider: complead Inc., a Delaware corporation, 1401 Pennsylvania Ave., Unit 105, Wilmington, DE 19806, New Castle County, United States.
1. About this Cookie Policy
This policy explains what cookies and similar technologies are, which ones we use on complead.ai, what we learn from them, who else receives that data, and how you can control them.
It supplements our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle personal information more generally, and our Terms of Use.
2. What are cookies and similar technologies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your browser or device when you visit a website. They let a site recognize your browser, remember your preferences, keep you signed in, and understand how the site is used.
- First-party cookies are set by complead.ai.
- Third-party cookies are set by another company whose service runs on our pages, such as an analytics or advertising provider.
- Session cookies are deleted when you close your browser.
- Persistent cookies stay until they expire or you delete them.
We also use technologies that work like cookies:
- Pixels and tracking tags: tiny images or scripts in pages and marketing emails that tell us whether a page was loaded or an email was opened.
- Local storage and session storage: browser storage used to hold interface state, drafts, and tokens, and, after consent or where consent is not required, the campaign that brought you to the site (UTM values and ad click IDs) for the duration of your visit.
- Software development kits and server-side tags: code that reports events to analytics or advertising platforms.
- Device and browser signals: limited technical characteristics used for security, fraud prevention, and bot detection.
Everything in this policy applies to all of these, not only to cookies in the narrow sense.
3. The categories we use
3.1 Strictly necessary
Required for the site and platform to work. They handle session management, sign-in and authentication, load balancing, form submission, security, bot detection, and remembering your cookie choices. They cannot be switched off through our preference center, and blocking them in your browser will break parts of the site.
Typical purposes: session identifier, authentication token, CSRF protection, load balancer routing, consent record, rate limiting and abuse prevention.
3.2 Functional
Remember choices you make so the site behaves the way you expect: language and region, interface preferences, whether you have dismissed a banner, and support chat continuity. Turning these off means the site will not remember your settings.
3.3 Performance and analytics
Tell us how many people visit, which pages and free tools they use, how they navigate, where they encounter errors, and which content is useful. We use this in aggregate to improve the site. Where required, these are set only after you consent.
3.4 Advertising and targeting
Set by us and by advertising partners to measure campaign performance, limit how often you see an ad, and show you relevant content on other sites and social platforms. These may build a profile of your interests across websites, and may involve sharing identifiers with third parties. They are set only after you consent where consent is required, and you can withdraw consent at any time.
4. Who receives the data
We work with providers in the categories below. Each acts under contract, and several act as independent controllers for their own purposes, which are governed by their own privacy notices.
| Category | Typical providers | What they do |
|---|---|---|
| Hosting, delivery, and security | CDN and WAF provider | Route traffic, block attacks and bots |
| Product and web analytics | Web analytics platform | Aggregate usage and page performance |
| Marketing automation and CRM | CRM platform | Identify returning visitors, attribute form submissions |
| Advertising and social | Search, display, and professional network ad platforms | Campaign measurement, retargeting, conversion tracking |
| Support and chat | Live chat provider | Maintain a support conversation |
| Video and events | Video and webinar providers | Play embedded video, register attendance |
A current, itemized cookie inventory, listing each cookie, its provider, purpose, type, and duration, is available in the preference center on our site, which is scanned and updated regularly. We publish it there rather than here so it stays accurate between policy revisions.
5. How long cookies last
Durations vary by cookie. As a guide:
| Category | Typical lifetime |
|---|---|
| Session and authentication | Session, or up to 30 days where you choose to stay signed in |
| Consent record | 6 to 12 months, after which we ask again |
| Functional preferences | Up to 12 months |
| Analytics | Up to 14 months |
| Advertising and targeting | Up to 13 months, depending on the provider |
We re-ask for consent at least once every 12 months, and whenever we add a materially different purpose.
6. Your choices
Preference center. Use the cookie banner when you first arrive, or the cookie settings link in our footer at any time, to accept or reject each non-essential category. Your choice is recorded and applies to that browser and device.
Global Privacy Control. We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal where required. A browser sending GPC is treated as opting out of the sale and sharing of personal information for targeted advertising.
Browser controls. Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies, block third-party cookies, and browse privately. These settings are in the browser’s privacy or security menu. Blocking all cookies will prevent you from signing in and will break parts of the site.
Provider opt-outs. Analytics and advertising providers usually offer their own opt-outs, and industry tools such as the Digital Advertising Alliance and Your Online Choices pages let you opt out of several advertising networks at once.
Email pixels. Turn off automatic image loading in your email client, or unsubscribe using the link in any marketing email.
Do Not Track. We do not respond to browser “Do Not Track” headers, because no agreed standard exists for them. Use the preference center or GPC instead.
7. Cookies and U.S. state privacy laws
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended, and similar laws in other U.S. states, using advertising or analytics cookies that pass identifiers to third parties can count as a “sale” of personal information or as “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising. To the extent it does, rejecting those categories in the preference center, or sending a GPC signal, is a valid opt-out. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16.
8. Cookies and the GDPR
Where the GDPR and the ePrivacy rules apply, strictly necessary cookies are set on the basis of our legitimate interest in providing a secure, working site. All other categories are set only with your consent, which you may withdraw at any time in the preference center. Withdrawal does not affect processing carried out before it. Some providers are established in the United States; transfers to them rely on the safeguards described in the Privacy Policy.
9. Cookies on the platform
The signed-in complead platform uses cookies and browser storage that are strictly necessary for authentication, session security, tenant routing, and audit logging. We do not run advertising cookies inside the authenticated platform.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our site, providers, or the law change. The current version is always posted here with its “Last updated” date. Material changes are reflected in the preference center, and we will ask for consent again where required.
